If you go to asearch engine and look for boating links, you will find thousands of them. A simple Google search for "boating" returned over 26 million hits in 2010, up from 1.4 million in 2001.
Some are public interest sites looking to promote boating, boating safety, or some more narrow agenda; some are merchants and vendors trying to sell us stuff; and many are private boaters looking to share their enjoyment of boating with others.
I make no attempt to provide a thorough listing of links. This my own idiosyncratic list of sites that I have found enjoyable, useful, or entertaining. They are loosely organized by type, but many of the sites cover several different items.
I did get carried away and decided to try to have every official U. S. state boating site. I found something from every state; a number of the state sites that I found difficult to navigate when I first compiled this list have been substantially improved.
