Slowboats (Updated) 4

I’ve mentioned my qualms about Senator Clinton on several occasions. I have been taken aback by a number of things that she and official spokespersons for her campaign have said and done.

Nevertheless, some of her supporters have, as far as I can tell, frankly fallen off the edge of reality, weaving themselves a fabric of fantasy, lies, delusion (remember delusion?), sometimes with very nasty overtones of the vilest racism.

(Aside: Senator Clinton, of course, is not responsible for the conduct of individuals who support her, but are not part of her campaign, though it can be argued that some of her campaign’s tactics and claims have helped create an atmosphere in which such comments could be seen as legitimate.)

Phillybits has been following one such story with dogged determination. The story is of some significance, since it has already surfaced on the wingnut version of Pravda Fox News (see Phillybits for a discussion of this).

Now the Booman appears to have the scoop.

I have met the Booman. I seriously doubt that he would have published this unless he had the goods.

Addendum, Later That Same Morning:

John Cole has more.

There’s a saying – "Put up or shut up."

In this case, Larry didn’t put up so now it’s time to shut up. What he did do, however, was generate mucho traffic to his blog, over an otherwise unproven whisper campaign, to read post after post after post full of vile disgusting comments, conspiracy theories, and other heinous admonishings, not only from the authors, but doubly worse and then some from his commenters, leaving more skepticism perhaps in the minds of some by sowing seeds of doubt.

Personally, I wouldn’t be surprised if this this was an extension of Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos and Johnson got suckered in, along with all his readers.

Oh man, if this whole controversy turns on the simple auditory ambiguity of whether she was saying "Whitey cut folks off Medicaid!" or "Why’d he cut folks off Medicaid?", that’s just too funny for words.

I’m predicting right now that no such tape will ever appear. It’s an urban legend.

Well, Opie, how do you think I’m feeling right now?

    The video apparently just surfaced.

The link says that the video has been "removed by the user." Did you actually see it? Was it legit?
