Why the Republicans hate the Constitution and why the Democrats hate the Constitution are separate but equally interesting topics. Take for instance what today’s Democrats would do to the Bill of Rights:
First Amendment: As soon as they realized The Separation Of Church And State was not a phrase in the Constitution, they’d make sure it was. (They’d find room by doing away with the free exercise clause.)
Second Amendment: hahaha…
Fourth Amendment: would be extended to foreign combatants.
Fifth Amendment: Bye-bye to our double jeopardy rights, (those exonerated the first time shall be retried on civil rights charges) and to eminent domain protections if the government figures they could make a lot of tax money by taking your property.
Nine and Tenth: I can see Dick Durbin asking how the $%^& those ever got in there in the first place…
